Autobiography

I was born and grew up in Tehran capital of Iran (Persia). After finishing high school in 1992 I started Civil engineering in Sharif university of technology, the best engineering university in country. At the middle of my studies, as a student I got familiar with computer programming (Fortran 77). And I began to learn other programming languages like GW Basic and Quick Basic. Later, when Windows 3.1 came to existence, I learned Visual Basic 3 as a Windows programming language.

After my bachelor degree in 1996, I entered Amirkabir university of technology for a masters degree in Geotechnical engineering (soil and foundation). At the same time I had the chance to start working at Mandro company, one of the best geotechnical companies in Iran. By mixing work experiences and masters courses I tried to boost my understanding of "what is geotechnics and soil mechanics?" and "what can I do in this field?"

In 1997 I found that most of the bearing capacity and settlement of foundations calculations could be programmed to help engineers to increase accuracy and save their time. And I developed my first software "PEYSANJ" while I was examining it in the company. Finally in March 1998 I presented my thesis in "Behavior of reinforced soil under earthquake conditions" and got 19.5 (excellent) grade (Supervisor : Prof. Ali Rahaii).

A few month later I married and started working at "Tehran Engineering Consultant Organization" a division of municipality as project manager. Projects were mostly urban structures like multi-story parkings, high-rises, bridges, municipality buildings, water canals and so on. As I was serious to evolve "PEYSANJ" software, I was studying programming books to learn more and in 2000 I passed the international exam on software programming and got "Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)" certification.

Since 2003, I switched to work with Azmon Khak company for a more extended variety of projects and had good experiences in managing geologists, soil mechanics laboratory, drilling team and working on water refineries, irrigation systems, factories, buildings and so on. At that time I started developing a new software named "Soil Mechanics Test Processor (SMTP)" to ease the procedure of soil mechanics calculations. In 2004 I began learning VB .NET programming language and re-wrote "PEYSANJ" software from scratch.

During last 10 years, I worked as a geotechnical engineer in IRAN and experienced so many issues. During this period I got involved in being contact with clients as well as structural designers and keeping track of project' time schedule.

My software packages are now the most powerful and known software in industry and I am proud that they are tested, approved and bought by "Road and Transportation Ministry of Iran".Peysanj geotechnical engineering software

In Sep. 2007 I moved to Vancouver, Canada and started working for Soil Vision Systems Ltd. as a senior geotechnical engineer / programmer. Working with Dr. Fredlund was an opportunity for me to more understand the concepts of unsaturated soils and also professional development of geotechnical software.
